Device Unable to Connect to Network

Tue Mar 09, 2021 6:49 pm

Hi,

This might be considered a windy posting. So, bear with me.

I am trying to set up a print server https://www.tp-link.com/id/home-network ... tl-ps110u/ behind the RB (RB952Ui-5ac2nD) so all users could print to it. But the RB just doesn't want to play nicely with my device.

The setup is as follows:
Printer Server <-Ethernet Cable-> Switch <-Ethernet Cable-> RB

This is what I had tried.

1.
The RB's hotspot feature is used.
I have set the printer server to obtain IP automatically from RB DHCP server.
I have configured IP Binding and set the MAC address of the printer server to be bypassed on the RB.
From DHCP Server -> Leases, there is no entry of the device.

2.
Next, I set an IP (192.168.2.30) on the printer server which is within RB's IP range of 192.168.2.0/24
Again, the IP Binding is set based on the device MAC address.
I ping from the Terminal within WinBox and it results to timeout.

My guess is, a configuration is blocking the device to be connected to the RB.

3.
I brought the Printer Server to another workplace, set it up using the 1st method and it works perfectly. The device MAC address appears on the DHCP -> Leases tab.

The only difference I can see between the 2 RBs is that there is simple queue and queue tree feature used. Does that affect?

Thank you
