Hello all,
I had an RB951G-2HnD which worked fine for a few years, but after a system update, it got bricked - not even netinstall could save it.
So I bought myself a brand new RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN. Popped it into my modem, fired it up, and the default script doesn't seem to be working very well.
Topology:
- eth1 - ISP's modem
- eth6 - TP-Link Deco in "AP mode"
Issues:
- 2.5GHz network doesn't assign an IP. (fixed by setting country)
- Winbox connects, tries to load, then disconnects. (since I'm using a MacOS as client, I highly suspect the Winbox version I'm running is outdated for this ROS version)
What works:
- Internet works (I'm posting through it)
- 5G works.
- Webfig works.
- Deco in AP mode works.
Tried updating RouterOS (through Webfig "QuickSet" - Check for updates), then bootloader, then resetting to factory defaults and the problems persist.
I would like to have it running smoothly before committing my own configuration on top of it. Also waiting for my other ISP to come install their modem, and I'll probably want it to be a dual-WAN setup, so it would be easier if the default config was running smoothly.
Any ideas on how to get started?
Thank you all, and best regards!
