MikroTik HAp AC: making transparent bridge to router via SFP

Tue Mar 16, 2021 5:50 pm

Hi all

I'm afraid I'm another newbie who probably should know better—please be kind!

I have my ISP router installed in my house. I've connected the router to a media converter with Ethernet; the media converter connects via a fiber cable to the MikroTik's SFP module.

I have access to the Internet via the MikroTik's inbuilt WLAN connections. However, what I would like to do is:
* Have the ISP router issue IP addresses
* Use the MikroTik as a transparent bridge (I think), both by accessing the Eth ports and the WLAN
* Use the ISP router's SSID and passwords

I connected the MikroTik to my router via Ethernet in order to make any changes.I first tried using the Bridge on WebFig and I managed to get the bridge to work, initially, but the MikroTik was still issuing IP addresses. Then I reset and just switched off the DHCP server from the WISP AP QuickSet menu, and then I couldn't access the MikroTik at all.

I feel like I'm _nearly_ there—just need a little help.

Thanks in advance!
