Help with LHG R setup please

Tue Mar 23, 2021 7:51 pm

Apologies for being totally out of my depth but any help would be very much appreciated.

I have made quite a few mistakes.

I purchased the LHG R for a really good price I thought, only realised there was no modem in it after trying to get it to work for a few hours.

I then purchased the r11e lte6 modem and fitted it.

Getting three leds power ethernet and led.

Can't connect to antenna through browser but can though winbox.

No Internet connection.

Modem enabled in winbox but there are so many other settings I don't know where to start.

Thanks in advance for your time

Hey,

If the modem was really detected, go to IP-> DHCLIENT and add lte1 device, so that it would obtain an IP from the provider and also make it sure that the APN profile match with what your ISP expect

loloski say:
go to IP-> DHCLIENT
Stop that ! DHCP Client is used for USB devices who use a Ethernet emulation, like when your android phone use "Hotspot USB" or Huawei E3372 works in Hi.Link mode.
Normal lte modules inserted into m.2 or miniPCIexpress slot not use dhcp client !.

Documentation: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/LTE
Enable logs: /system logging add topics=lte

Default configuration at RouterOS should detect lte1 interface.
To connect to ISP you should use a proper APN, check that.
Use Quick Set like example: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=165999&hilit=quickset#p817013
This should and provide PIN for SIM and APN of course.

This should in 95% give you internet even at connected devices.
Some ISP in USA can create problems but in EU this is all you need to start use device.

Give logs and screenshot if you have problem.

I still cant connect to the antenna though the ip address but can through winbox

As far as I can tell the settings are correct.

Any more advise would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

I can now connect through a Three sim card after following the guide posted above many thanks.

But i wanted to test an ee sim also before I decide which one to use permanently however when I test an EE Sim it does not work.

It does not show an internet IP address which I think might be the problem,

Again any help would be very much appreciated again.

This setup should give IP Address in range 192.168.88.50-254 with gateway 192.168.88.1.
You cannot connect to RouterOS via IP: 192.168.88.1 ?

Check if you receive that IP by windows cmd: ifconfig /all
You try WinBox or www interface ?
Run WinBox and show what you see at Neightbors tab.

Three sim - I understand that is a name of your ISP/MNO

But i wanted to test an ee sim also before I decide which one to use permanently however when I test an EE Sim it does not work.

EE sim - it's your next ISP/MNO then use his proper APN to receive internet.
