Dual WAN ( YEAH AGAIN :) )

Sat Mar 27, 2021 3:05 pm

Hello All

I'm loving my 3 new mikrotik products. I have a question.

I have 2 ISPs

One is via PPPOE interface and the other is a DHCP through a cable modem bridged.

So both are dynamic

Everything is working fine but I have not setup any mangle / prerouting rules for either connection.

from the inside I can do exactly as I need to - I use cable modem as primary connection and have routes setup for some subnets to route via the pppoe provider for some other bits that need to stay on that net.

as soon as PPPOE connection is established I can no longer ping wan IP of cable connection - I can actually see the ping coming in and then trying to be responded to via PPPOE.

I've looked ( and tried ) the PPPC config but its difficult with dynamic connections that can go down and back up.

I just want simply to mark packets hitting either WAN interface to make sure they use that WAN interface when being output.

Is there a simple way to do this?

Thank You!

This is because you should remove old connection, read last part (4 point ) of this: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=166412&p=818011#p818011
