Opening SXT Case?

Mon May 03, 2021 5:50 pm

I recently purchased 2 SXT kits without the modem, to install a custom Quactel modem. I can't figure out how to get the case open, though. Is there a tool, or instructions anywhere?

Thanks.

Get a set of tiny screwdrivers. Now pry the SXT open at the little gaps they leave on the seam where the two halves of the case meet.

Thanks, I'll give that a try again. I tried that when I was investigating and it was really, really hard. It seemed like I was going to break it.

If it breaks then you haven't damaged anything of value.

Well yeah, you're not likely to break a brand new SXT, but if you do, then maybe it wasn't worth much to begin with.

Just push flat screwdriver “under the skin” from small holes and it will pop open. Then remove two black rubber pieces that keep motherboard in place and that’s it, the only screws you have to handle are the two that keep LTE card in place.
