RB960PSG max POE output

Mon Jun 14, 2021 5:31 pm

Hello everyone, i would like to know if i'm wrong...
I would like to power 4 device attached to RB960PSG at max 450ma (25,65w max per port), with 57V power unit poe-in.
Wich is the best adapter for this, RBGPOE 2A max or 48POW?
The device can reach the required power output without damage any unit (114W poe devices + 9W self-power)?

1a) I would like to power 4 device attached to RB960PSG at max 450ma (25,65w max per port), 1b) with 57V power unit poe-in.
2) Wich is the best adapter for this, RBGPOE 2A max or 48POW?
3) The device can reach the required power output without damage any unit (114W poe devices + 9W self-power)?
1a) 4 * 450 = 1800 = < 2000 = OK
1b) 57V? NO! must use 48V (57 too close to max)
2) RBGPOE = no power, only PoE cable / 48POW = power OK!
3) Seriously?

Hi reextended, thanks for the super fast response! I can reach the maximum with 48POW, perfect... but why not ? there is another mikrotik device can do better the same job?
Do You think no Poe-out device and only poe-adapters is better approach for this case?

I can reach the maximum with 48POW

No, you can't. You want 4x450mA=1800mA peak power, while 48POW is rated at 1460mA which makes it short by one PoE device (if you consider RB960PGS own consumption as well). Either use an even higher-power power adapter or go with some other PoE switch. Or use dual hEX PoE.

You must use 48V2A96W
for 48VPOW I misunderstand the transformator.

this have max 2000 mA
