How to access a HEX router Webfig from another network?

Fri Jul 02, 2021 2:21 pm

Hi,

I have got a new HEX router (RB750Gr3) that is automatically configured as 192.168.88.1/24. It is directly connected to my ISP router (192.168.0.1/24).

From any device connected to HEX I have access to the Webfig, however I have no access to it from my outer network.

Should I modify the firewall configuration? Could you please help on this?
Thanks in advance

Please simply configure it from the local network. Opening up configuration to outside will mean that all kinds of attackers will also try to "configure" it.

But yes, there is a firewall that is blocking connections from the ISP side. You can open it up to a specific IP addreess, if you know where you will be connecting from

Probably in this case it is safe to allow from 192.168.0.0/24

Thanks for both for your help!
How could I open the firewall for a specific address? I would like 192.168.0.4 to have an access for the 192.168.88.0 network.

Adding the "chain=input action=accept src-address=192.168.0.0/24 log=no log-prefix=""" filter rule now I can access webfig via 192.168.0.239
