A while ago i posted this topic: viewtopic.php?t=153418
I got a lot of help from that but some very random issues still persist.
My network topology is almost the same updated version is here:
The issue i'm having is as follows. At some point on my mac connection will get very sluggish. Web pages won't open and ping is all over the place (even against the LHGG router).
Ping example:
Code: Select all
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=83.971 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=59.881 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=106.401 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=58.476 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=32.990 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=194.751 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=6 ttl=64 time=24.399 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=49.070 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=8 ttl=64 time=155.898 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=9 ttl=64 time=126.334 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=10 ttl=64 time=42.048 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=11 ttl=64 time=83.789 ms

64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=13 ttl=64 time=103.812 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=14 ttl=64 time=91.558 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=15 ttl=64 time=152.604 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=16 ttl=64 time=160.237 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=17 ttl=64 time=71.557 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=18 ttl=64 time=55.801 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=19 ttl=64 time=22.398 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=20 ttl=64 time=107.530 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=21 ttl=64 time=92.590 ms
Now my first reaction was to check if something is wrong with the signal, because i was not moving prior to that for at least an hour and at that time as well.
Mac was showing avg RSSI -45 and noise was -94
PS: all AP's in the 2.4 range are on 1, 6 or 11 channel.
On the AP side (192.168.88.2 OruAPMaja)
So everything looked fine in my eyes. This went on for about 5-8 minutes and then just stopped with the ping now being:
Code: Select all
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=22.834 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=2.256 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=2.203 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=2.189 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=2.243 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=2.169 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=6 ttl=64 time=1.895 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=64.640 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=8 ttl=64 time=2.890 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.88.1: icmp_seq=9 ttl=64 time=1.662 ms
This is getting really frustrating as well as i have no idea where to look.
Everything has been setup by wiping the AP's and the export script is then loaded via winbox terminal. So everything else in there configuration wise is default.
I was thinking that maybe it has something to do with routing and RSTP being enabled on the bridge ports by default or maybe even some default settings are letting me use the network but at some point something will happen and that setting is not optimal for my setup and there is like one tickbox somewhere that should be ticked as well.
So if anyone has encountered same things or has any ideas what to look or where it would be very appreciated.
I even have no idea how to replicate it because it happens completely randomly.
I have attached the export scripts as well. Everything on the switchOS side is still the same as in the pictures in the previous topic (scroll down a bit): viewtopic.php?t=153418
