Powering simple network - multiple devices at once

Mon Aug 16, 2021 2:19 pm

Hi all, I am considering an upgrade to my home network, and would like to power everything from a single point:
  • One router
  • One switch (CSS610, which I already have)
  • 2 AP
I see that new WAPac and the upcoming RB5009 are 802.3 POE in, while CSS610 is passive. RB5009 could be substituted by a RB4011, also passive. Is there a solution/product to power all the devices?

Thanks.

I do NOT recommend the CRS-8P suggested by @rextended BECAUSE its very OLD tech and NOT in sync with newer tech like the RB5009

Hopefully MikroTik will have a modern Day POE switch released soon that can power modern day devices --
The switch I suggest for you is the OUTSTANDING Ubiquiti Switch 8 PoE (150W)

Can it be managed locally aka by IP address and not unifi controller?

The Ubiquiti Switch requires the Ubiquiti controller which can be run from either Windows or Linux or the Cloud -- once configured no controller is required unless special enterprise capabilities may be desirable. For the money nothing else currently compares to this switch and its capabilities IMO.

Ubiquiti POE switches are an option, like many unmanaged POE from third parties, but I’d like to keep it simple.
Thank you all nonetheless.

On near all towers I use CRS112-8P-4S as PoE & Switch (never Routing)
And when I need more port I use CRS318-16P-2S+

@rextended, EXCELLENT ...... I did that on purpose to have people contact me and report the error.

So far, of the very many people who have contacted me you are the only one who actually checked .... :D
