Firmware change from INT to US ver. into WAP LTE modem

Mon Aug 30, 2021 6:12 pm

Hi,

We recently purchase 5 x WAP LTE RBwapr-2nd&r11e-LTE international version in a store outside my country

I'm from Bolivia, and after I installed, I noticed the mobile conexion are too slow, at 3G HSDPA,
after asking to mobile provider, they said the RB is not correctly configured for work in LTE network.

But after checking documentation, we noticed the US version is for LATIN countries,
contrary to WIFI models hardware.

Apreciate we can have the procedure to change firmware from INT version to US version,
or enable LTE bands for latinamerica countris at out modem.

Apreciate your help.

The problem is not with firmware, the problem is physical - support for different frequency bands.

R11e-LTE (international) supports: 1 (2100MHz) / 2 (1900MHz) / 3 (1800MHz) / 7 (2600MHz) / 8 (900 MHz) / 20 (800MHz) / 38 (2600MHz) / 40 (2300MHz)
(the last two are TDD bands)

R11e-LTE-US supports: 2 (1900MHz) / 4 (1700MHz) / 5 (850MHz) / 12 (700MHz)

You can replace LTE modem. You might want to use R11e-LTE6, which is both faster (cat6 up to 300Mbps compared to cat4 up to 150Mbps) and supports greater number of frequency bands: 1 (2100MHz) / 2 (1900MHz) / 3 (1800MHz) / 7 (2600MHz) / 8 (900 MHz) / 20 (800MHz) / 5 (850MHz) / 12 (700MHz) / 17 (700MHz) / 25 (1900MHz) / 26 (850MHz) and TDD bands 38 (2600MHz) / 40 (2300MHz) / 39 (1900MHz) / 41n (2500MHz)

But then it really depends on which frequency bands are used by your MNO.

HI,

Apreciate your feedback.

What a big problem, not have the same modem for all bands available.

regards for your coment
