We use NSTREME on all our Backhauls...
- greater distance
- greater throughput
We do not use polling on PtP links - but do use it where we have MPtP links - with the new board, OS and wireless card we are using this more and more to hook clients in NSTREAME - but use polling for this....
I know you don't like the new OS - but in V3.10 (all our units) we disable CSMA on the PtP links.
These links FLY..!!!!! - and are absolutely trouble free and rock solid.
Anything between 30Km and 80Km - all run in NSTREME - it's a standard with us.
I'm still undecided about NSTREME2 - we have implemented it a couple of times - and I haven't seen the benefit unless the "return link" requires HUGE throughput - so we use 2 x NSTREME links where required on seperate ranges - and it works a beaut. I belive in keeping the links simple - so Bonding and other requirements can become a hassle unless ou're on top of it all the time. I wish I had a link close enough for us to experiment a lot - but we don't have the time to "play" at the moment - expansion is the order of the day!!!!
Hope this is informative.
