Superchannel

Sun Aug 03, 2008 2:51 pm

I followed the procedure about superchannel and it was enabled.
I can't seem to find a way on the online shop to buy the superchannel add-on on its own.
There is only a check-box when buying a new license.

When you say that keys cannot be upgraded i know it means i can't go from lvl 4 to lvl 5 by paying the difference, but does it also mean i can't use superchannel without obtaining a new license?

I sent to support@mikrotik.com and they said to me this

Hello,

please fax us a letter where you say that you will use the additional frequencies according to your local laws, example here:

http://www.mikrotik.com/pdf/extend.pdf

make the letter on a company letterhead and it should be signed and stamped by an authorised company representative

we will then enable this feature on your mikrotik.com account. fax number:
+371 6 7317701
Each upgrade will cost 10$

Regards,
Normunds

Yes I have already sent the fax and my account has it enabled. There is a checkbox under the license that says "Custom Frequencies" which cost 10$ and i assume that's the one. However, as i said its only on a new license. I want to "install" the add-on on my level 5 license.

Hi
Want to upgread Custom Frequency with Existing License

Click "Work with Key"
Select the Key in a root folder & Click on Upgread. You will get an option of custom frequency. Just Pay 10$ and Paste the new Key in your Router.

I dont know how to use superchannel.
I've set on one side Superchannel with no_country_set but when I do a scan it doesnt show my AP. At the client side is identical. What am I missing?
Can I use SuperG in any channel?
I used 2492 channel, not far from standard channels.

both sides have to use wireless mode "superchannel", and for the client to see the AP you have to enter the APs new frequency range in client's "scan list" parameter in wireless settings.

Then copy the license from your control panel and install it in the Routerboard. (Import key)

Look under System License and see if the extra channels shows up under the "Features" window.

I read some posts, and seems I need to update to ROS 3.xx to install superchannel license feature in my RB... The question is: ROS 3.xx works good on this 532...?, I repeat is not a 400 mhz cpu one...

Superchannels work fine with RouterOS 2.9.x. All of my RB532s (about 200) are running 2.9.51 and I have several working with superchannels.

Have you looked at "System > License" in the "Features" window? Does it say anything? It should say "extra-channels" if you have the Custom Frequency upgrade key properly installed. If they are not installed, it will be blank.
