License transfer question

Fri Aug 22, 2008 7:39 pm

Hi, I'm running L6 3.13 on 'n AMD64+ 2.2ghz, 1GB DDR2 800, 120 GB SATA HDD, which I bought when I started up my network. However, I noticed in a few hours since installation that this specifications is way more than needed for RouterOS, especially on a smallish network. I've got another computer, 1.1 AMD Thunderbird, 512MB PC133, 80 GB.

Would like to know if it is possible that I can transfer the L6 license over so that I can use the fast computer for something else.

In the FAQ it says I have to use the same hard drive, but the Thunderbird does not support SATA.

Is it possible? and can someone assist me if it is. Thanks

Someone I doubt that will work, since ghosting doesn't copy your Harddrives model number. Otherwise you would have seen a lot of other people ghosting their LEVEL6 license to multiple HDD's.

So there is no way that I can move my LEVEL 6 license from harddrive (IDE) to a new (SATA) harddrive?

email support and ask for a transfer (not dead so maybe not)
or
use an IDE / SATA converter.
or
use an IDE PCI adapter.
