MikroTik RB411 and R52 Working With Tsunami 5054-BSUR

Hi,

I am new to the MikroTik product line. I am currently running a wireless network that uses Proxim equipment only. I purchased a MIKROmini5 radio to see if I could make it work with my 5054-BSUR radios and have had no luck at all getting them to link.

I am wondering if the Network Secret in the 5054 Radio is the issue. I can't seem to find a place to add it into the MIKROmini5 setup. Anyone happen to have any experience setting up a connection like this? I would appreciate any input.

Thanks,
Dean

As far as I know, the Tsunami range uses proprietary protocols, so it can't communicate with non Tsunami equipment.

MikroTik can use nStreme or standard 802.11, both of which are incompatible with the Tsunami.

I have a LOT of experience with Proxim equipment and can confirm the 5054 and 5012 series of radios from Proxim use their proprietary WORP protocol, while this is similar in concept to Nstreme they are completely incompatible.

You will need to stick with Proxim SU's or migrate your network to something more standards based like Mikrotik.

Andrew
