I have a Mikrotik router OS on which I am using the hotspot feature.
Mikrotik connects to switch, which connects to an external access point.
External access point used is a Nanostation.
People can then login using Wifi to connect to the internet.
Most customers connect using Nanostations as well in client mode.
The problem I am experiencing is that some users have a perfect signal, when I ping my access point I get a reply with 2ms - 10ms, but I cannot ping my Mikrotik router.
Funnily, the client computer can even get an IP assigned by the Mikrotik router using DHCP. All the settings fall in correctly, but when I try to ping the router, I get a timeout and hence cannot get connected to the internet.
I have tried changing the IP for the client computer and his nanostation as well but no luck.
IPs are as follows:
Mikrotik Router IP - 192.168.0.1
Access point IP - 192.168.0.250
Client Nano IP - 192.168.0.142
Client Machine ip - Auto assigned ( 192.168.0.56)
From client computer, I get reply from 192.168.0.250. Signal on Nano is full, but when I ping 192.168.0.1 it times out.
This is happening on two three different customers while all the rest can access internet well.
