BGP: must I activate route reflector or Cliente reflection ?

Mon Apr 12, 2010 9:05 am

Hi all.
I'm study BGP and I have this network example:

R1============radio link============== R5
\ /
SW1----R3 === radio link ==== R4----SW2
/ \
R2 R6

R1...R6 are routerboard SW1, SW2 are switch.
I set AS=100 in node SW1 and AS=200 in SW2.
R1 have R2,R3 as peers and R5 as an external BGP.
R2 have R1,R3 as peers
R3 have R1,R2 as peers and R4 as an external BGP.
(the same in node SW2).

Routes are well transferring routes but I need a deep understanding of some parameters for the better configuration:
- in which routers is it necessary to set "client-to-client-reflection" in the instance ?
- in which routers is it necessary to set "route-reflect" it the peer ?

Thanks.

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Ro ... P#Instance

'client-to-client-reflection' must be set if router is route reflector
'route-reflect' must be set if routers are route reflection clients
