WEP & WPA in Mikrotik

Tue Sep 14, 2010 9:01 am

Does anybody know how and where do I enter the WEP key in Mikrotik menu,
in order to connect to a wireless modem, through one of my routerboard's wireless interfaces?

I don't think Mikrotik supports WEP.

Seriously?

I've just checked and I all I see is WPA and WPA2. Nuffin about WEP. I thought no-one used WEP anymore?

Surely?

But that doesn't mean anyone should use WEP.

You can use WEP keys.. if you have the good idea of do it.. xD

With Mikrotik you could use 802.11b too.. instead of 802.11g.. I think it's normal.

Normis, give me the coffee : D!

I do use 802.11b mode in one of my wireless interfaces.
Since this is a BASIC RULE in order to connect to the wireless community called AWMN, as client!
Nevertheless I was wrong the Wi-Fi router uses wpa-psk

"blake" covered me after all, thank you for the help.
I will try this once I find some time at home.
(I will also check on wiki.mikrotik site, its great! and I am a newbi!)
