hi friends,

today i setup a bridge between 2 RB711-5Hn-MMCX in a 22dbi antenna enclosure.

both in the same room a few inches away.

i then setup a MPLS transparent bridge using the steps given here : http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Transpare ... using_MPLS

now when i transfer data from one PC to another PC i don't get speeds above 1.5 MBPS at the most 2MBPS. Not above that.

anything i need to do more about this setup for gaining speeds above atleast 20MBPS....

Hi saintofinternet,

Usually there´s no need for VPLS on PTP Links anymore; RouterOS V5 has a
native Bridge Mode without the speed tradeoff using WDS;
Said that, you won´t get good results at you test setup with 22dbi antennas just a couple of feet away...
It´s like staring into the sun. Ideal signal is around 60dbm.

any place where i can see the bridge setup?? without using MPLS.... because i somehow misreably fail when i try to do it using WDS and bridge. my RouterOS is Level3 hence i don't even have a AP mode.

You dont´t need Level 4 for PTP Setup. Just set Mode "Bridge" on the first and Mode "station-bridge" on the other - no need for WDS.

Additionally you have to add a bridge and bind both wlan and ether interface.

today i enabled NV2 and the Bandwidth Test gave me speeds of 200MBPS

when i tried actual file transfer from PC to PC it was not above 700 KBPS...... :(

why is this happening??...

Do you see any errors or drops at the interface statistics?
