I am trying to upgrade RB1100 to 5.16. Have tried several times unsuccessfully, same error. could not download file write failed (6) . I am directly connected to the router with PC and using Winbox and dragging the 5.16 NPK files to the Files box. I have used this method in past always successful. What am I doing wrong? Most of the files download, but then stops with the error "could not download file write failed (6)"

Is there enough storage space for the file?

Have you connect the routerboard with mac-adress or ip-adress
use ip-adres from routerboard and try again

How do I check to see if enough space for files? In Resources, Free HDD space is 15.1 MB Total HDD 47.1 MB. Also after checking and it is indeed not enough disk space, how would I go about freeing up disk space?

Simply delete the files you don`t need. Old backups and similar stuff.

I have removed any unnecessary files and still only have 14.8 MB free of 41.7 MB drive. Using Winbox if I go to System>Stores and select the drive name system and click on Check Drive button it returns Check Drive Error - cannot check/format system disk (6). There is a button to Clean Disk, but I have not done this as it warn All disk data will be lost. Can someone please instruct me how to free up some disk space on this RB1100 unit.

I am struggling to find out how to free up disk space on the RB100AHx2. I have 13.5 MB free disk space of 41.7 MB hard drive in Resources. My problem is I still cannot upgrade to 5.16 and I believe it is because I do not have the 20 MB of hard disk space needed to load the upgrade files. How do I free up disk space on the hard drive??

1)make a backup copy it to PC
2) uninstall all packages that you don't need for upgrade process
3) copy separate packages in one or 2 parts


Or just netinstall the board with keep configuration flag on.
