Hello,
There is ability to use ports firmware files for devices (shown under ports menu as firmware - version 5.24). I understand that it is possibility to upload to router some firmware aka drivers for devices that is not recognized by routeros. So what is type of those files?

that option is only used for the gobi2000 chipset modems
