CRS125-24G-1S-2HnD VPN Problems

Wed Nov 13, 2013 8:17 am

Hello,

I am new to mikrotik, but i have tried for about 8 hours to read through all the documentation I could find and I have watched about 10 Youtube videos on setting up VPN
on mikrotik products, but I have not been successful.

My iphone and all my remote computers, XP and Windows7 All basically say that the vpn server is not responding.
Because this is a Cloud Switch series product, is there any additional or special configurations I need in order to allow VPN traffic to come through to the router ?
I have followed this tutorial most recently to use L2TP vpn instead of PPTP as it is apparently more secure... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBlUaZw9uNU

I noticed there is no service port available for L2TP and i cannot add service ports from the service tab.. Since i see no log data when trying to connect from
remote VPN clients My hypothesis is that there is something in the mikrotik that is preventing the vpn connection in the firewall..

Please let me know what i must do to help my self get help..

I updated it to 6.6..

If i go into Firewall and disable all my firewall rules, I can connect with VPN.......
What firewall rules need to be made for L2TP VPN using IPSEC ?
