Very Basic

Mon Jul 14, 2014 2:14 pm

Hi,

Sorry to ask such a basic question, but I'm very new to the MikroTik device.

I have a RouterBOARD 951G 2HnD and all I want to do is separate the Ethernet network from the Wi-Fi network e.g. have a guest network on the Wi-Fi, what is the easiest way to do this if its possible please?

Thank you.

If using the default config, just take the wireless interface out of the bridge and assign a new subnet to it and create a DHCP server on the wlan interface.

Thanks for your reply.

Under bridge ports, I have removed the wireless interface.
I created a DHCP server under interface wlan1
and under addresses I added the network 192.168.0.0 subnet 192.168.0.1/24

I still seem to be stuck with only one DHCP range though for the LAN/WLAN

Again sorry for been just a noob.

Thank you.

Remove the DHCP server you created and use the "DHCP Setup" button on the DHCP Server window. It will create the pool and everything for you.
