802.1X Authentication

Wed Jul 23, 2014 5:24 pm

Hi there,

I'm moving into University accommodation in September and I intend on taking my RouterBOARD with me to use as a gateway so that I can connect as many things as I want behind the RouterBOARD and have my own personal network for playing around with, etc. With one of the routerboard interfaces connected to the university network to provide internet access.

The one question I have - I've been informed that the university wired network requires 802.1x authentication - will the routerboard support this configuration? If so, how do I go about setting that up?

Thank you very much in advanced. If there's any further details that I need to post please let me know.

AFAIK RouterOS doesn't support authenticating itself on physical ports. But I might be mistaken.
