The below is for Sierra Wireless modems but most share the same standard command set so ZTE modems may work with them.

AT!SELRAT? will return the current radio access technology (RAT). By default, it should be set to 00 - automatic.
AT!SELRAT=? will show what the modem can connect to.

To force it to use the RAT you'd prefer, use AT!SELRAT=XX <-- the number from the above command you'd like.
3G will be under UMTS.

Go to the terminal and type:
/system serial-terminal usb1 channel=xx
Replace usb1 with the port the ZTE is plugged in to. Replace the XX with the info channel number.

If it won't let you type anything then you are trying the wrong channel.
Please attach a screenshot of the ppp-out1 interface (without the info box covering it).

I'm not sure why the info box will get the detail but accessing the channel direct won't.

Until someone else who has this modem or another ZTE posts, the only think I can suggest is to just try again with a different channel from 0 up to how many the modems has.

You'll have to send support file to MikroTik.
Before you do that though, can you put the modem in a Windows PC and use the ZTE connection software (if it exists) to issue AT commands?

The solution was to put the modem into a Windows PC and make the changes there, then plug it back in the router.

I don't have a ZTE modem so I can't offer much help. You need to download the ZTE dialler software. I don't know what it is called - similar to Sierra Wireless Watcher.
You can then issue AT commands.

OR

You can let Windows install the drivers for it, use Device Manager to find the COM port and issue the command over that.

Hi, my ZTE modem has integrated software in itself from my provider , so I put modem in Windows install software run it and in software setup I clik to use only 3g network after that I put modem back in mikrotik. Now I always have 3g connection.

Hi,

I also have a ZTE MF667. When I connect it, I see this as a USB device, however I have nothing in the port list.

Could you please help me how did you make it work?

Thanks!
