Mikrotik RB750GL licensing

Fri Oct 03, 2014 10:36 am

Hello,

I don't know very well how Mikrotik licenses work. If I buy one RB750GL router, can I upgrade it to latest 6.20 os version?

Regards

As I can see inside link @r2504 offered, products are not upgradable to all versions. How can I know which is the newer version I can install before buying the box?

I said this the last time this was discussed, and I'll say it again:

Please add a paragraph in the Manual:License page that explicitly clarifies that "upgradable to" is ignored. "free product lifetime upgrades" is ambiguous. If "upgradable to" was not ignored, one may read that sentence as "you can always upgrade up to the shown version, until your product is alive", which I only know is incorrect because of that topic.

Now, I'll also add: Remove that Wiki page r2504 linked to, since it's completely outdated now, and it could only mislead.

P.S. Told ya that in a few months time, we'll see someone asking the same question...

it is not relevant any more more routerboards. you can upgrade to newest versions, even when v7 comes out
