How would one go about downgrading the RouterOS Version ?

Wed Feb 25, 2015 5:20 am

Can you help me , in plain english of course, in the steps needed to take in downgrading my version ? For some reason I'm getting connection drops on my sat internet with the new release (way more often) than the earlier release of 6.25.

Just upload the desired packages to the routerboard by pasting on the folders entry within winbox

GO to System -> Packages and hit downgrade.

You can alter the download link of the latest version into the version you want.
I don't know what is officially view of MikroTik about delivering old versions.

As needed I also have most of the previous version available.

Thanks for the help. It's possibly just weather related too, or the ViaSat modem.

Actually, I'm still not getting it.

I downloaded: http://www.mikrotik-software.de/downloa ... e-6.25.zip , and left it unzipped. Uploaded, clicked downgrade.. and nothing.

So I unzipped it, copied all the single files .. Didn't see any new packages and clicked downgrade.. and nothing.

So what went wrong ?

The new files will show up in the File List, not Packages.

Do not put the full zip file. You indeed need to extract the zip and put all the individual (needed) npk files.
They will show up on the files list, not on packages.
Please be sure to obtain the correct version of the desired packages.
I see you are linking to the MIPSLE package, what RouterBoard do you use?
Most known RouterBoards are using the MIPSBE version.

RB 951.
RB951 Ui/G is using MISPBE package !

So, this is latest version for MISPBE based routers:

http://download2.mikrotik.com/routeros/ ... e-6.27.npk

TO gel older packages from ROS, simply change the number in link, for ex for version 6.20 change these paths:

http://download2.mikrotik.com/routeros/6.20/routeros-mipsbe-6.20.npk

I hope so, that now is more clear how to downgrade the version of ROS. So remember, dont download .zip archive with all packages. Downnoad the wanted .npk file, upload into your MT and restart. Your MT will be downgraded. :)

Better to download all packages zip file and use only necessary packages to install from it.
