I'm using a SSTP connection and PIM to route a multicast group. PIM works great till the SSTP connection gets interrupted (for whatever reason), and drops. At that point, the PIM Interface shows an "unknown" connection and will not continue once the SSTP connection has resumed. I'm assuming this is because (in part), that the SSTP connection is "dynamic".

Being "dynamic", I would hope that PIM would drop the interface completely instead of leaving a "unknown" interface connection. I've noticed the same thing when using a PPTP connection.

This is either a bug, the way its supposed to work, or something else. Either way, it is difficult to scan the PIM interfaces with a script when "unknown" doesn't show up. Actually, it is very difficult do to a lack of a "get" function for PIM interface.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Same problem with links interruptions over GRE tunnel running PIM ( RouterOS v6.32.3 and previous). I need to restart PIM process for restore multicast-traffic.
