Multiple ISP's, Remote sites, OSPF,MPLS,IBGP

Sat Jan 27, 2018 4:06 am

Hello.

Got the next scenario.

We are currently working with a mid-scale WISP, around 25 BTS we bought at a cheap price, all network is based on OSPF, MPLS, iBGP, MPLS-TE
*OSPF is doing the reachability work with the loopbacks and the backhauls subnets
*MPLS is doing the forwarding packets work with backhauls subnets
*iBGP is doing the traffic subnets work for all PE and CE

Everything work as expected at that point. Problem comes in as we are running out of capacity, so we ask our provider new F/O Links at BTS.6, BTS.12, BTS,24 (He couldn't set F/O links on a single point anymore (at our Datacenter) because of capacity). So here's what we have so far:

F/O:
Core.C1=400/200 @Datacenter
BTS.6=200/100 @RemoteSite.6
BTS.12=200/100 @RemoteSite.12
BTS.24=100/100 @RemoteSite.24

So we kinda need to balance all ISPs on a single point or maybe do PBR, I was thinking about mangle/routing all other ISP but not sure yet.

all we are asking is a easy to go guide or an advice will be very welcome

thanks in advanced.

Michael !

there is no easy answer to the question here. BGP, MPLS-TE and Other metodes can be used in your setup. But you should read about loadbalancing. https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Load_Balancing

Certainly I’ve had tried many ways on the go. But no luck at all. What do you think we should do. Load balance is the way but how to balance diferente links on a single point when you have remote sites where the lines are

That’s the thing.

Anyone please ?

Hello,
The thing is, you need to provide more information.

Do you use your own IP addresses (RIR provided)?
Are you using BGP towards your provider?
Do you use multiple providers or just one?
Where is the NAT (if any) happening?
How's the service delivery model (is each BTS serving as a services GW or the services are terminated somewhere else, for instance VPLS + PPPoE where the BRAS is at a central location)
A basic network diagram would be needed as well

Like I said “we use iBGP” never talked about eBGP.

It’s way too simple, we got 4 Providers we don’t do eBGP to any of our providers that means we don’t have ASN or IPV4/6 blocks.

That being said, we kinda need to load balance 4 providers on a single point.

4 providers are not on the same site. But all network it’s reachable by OSPF. All traffic back and forth goes through iBGP.

Site A

Site B

Site C

Site D

(RB-Distribution) “here’s where we need to load balance all 4 providers into that single point”
