VRF + vpn4 BGP without MPLS

VRF + vpn4 BGP without MPLS

Hi all
I have 4 routers
without using MPLS LDP I am started BGP session beetwen R1 and R4 using address-families=vpn4 and update-source=none in both routers, and it works
can anybody explain me how it can works without LDP?

BGP do not need LDP to send NLRIs to other peers.
