OSPF - Single to Multi Advise

Mon Apr 08, 2019 1:04 pm

Hi Support,
We initially ran a bridged network, then going through the forums and seeing the benefits of a routed network. We upgraded to OSPF Network. The only problem we are seeing now is that our entire network which consists of approximately 10 routers, all of them are on a single AREA (backbone). We've drawn our layout (as attached). All our routers (towers) have redundancy on fiber and wireless, except for Router 4.
Router 6,7 and 8 are connected using iBGP. Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

Multiple area OSPF gives some advantages in large scale deployments, or in some scenarios where multiple branch offices exist. I don't think your network as described would benefit unless you are experiencing convergence issues.
