Default route OSPF or BGP?

I am re-designing our network to use OSPF for transit subnets between sites and eBGP to advertise customer subnets at each site. Many of our sites have multiple hops to our core with at least 2 paths at each site. This will give me greater control over traffic paths.

Anyway, wondering whether the default route should be advertised via OSPF or eBGP. What are pros and cons of either method? Seems like with OSPF I would just originate from my 2 edge routers and it propagates throughout the network and may go where I don't want it. With eBGP, I select which peers I want it advertised out. I also noticed that if I do both, the router chooses the OSPF route although it has higher distance. Is that because the eBGP is recursive? Anything else I should be considering?
