OSPF Failure setup ptp between CCR1016 - RB4011

Thu Sep 29, 2022 3:54 am

Hi guys

i am having troubles connecting OSFP on PTP mode on 2 devices

Device 1 = CCR1016
Device 2 = RB4011

Basically i have both of the devices connected via SFP+ port directly to a Switch CRS317 each one on separate SFP+ port..

Device 1 will be CGNAT and Device 2 will be PPPOE server, i am trying to connect both via OSFP but i am having troubles not reaching each end..

1st i have configured vlan 1150 with service tag on both devices on sfp+ port

Device1 = ip address on vlan1150 interface 10.152.155.1/30
Device2 = ip address on vlan1150 interface 10.152.155.2/30

Device 1 created loopback interface and added ip address 10.255.255.255
Device 2 created looback interface and added ip address 10.255.255.254

Both devices have vlan service-tag enabled, and i can ping on both devices no problems.

On OSFP configuration i have the following

Device1= Router ID : 10.255.255.255, redistribute Default route (allways type1), interfaces = vlan1150 interface and network type: point to point , and Networks i have setup 10.152.155.0/30
Device2= Router ID : 10.255.255.254, redistribute Default route (none), Redistribute connected routes (as type1), interfaces = vlan1150 interface and network type: point to point, and networks i have setup same ip block 10.152.155.0/30.

i also tried adding in the networks on both devices the loopback interface and the corresponding loopback ips 10.255.255.255, and 10.255.255.254 on each router .. but connection never reaches from CGNAT Device1 to Device2 PPPoE server..

i am running on both devices mikrotik versoin 6.48.6 long term , but on neighbours connection never reaches on both sides..

i have also tried removing the service-tag on the vlan, and at last i have also tried without vlan.. just creating the ip address block on device 1 and device2 on interface sfpplus1 and still could not get connection.

i enabled the ospf log in memory on both devices and this is the output log below..

BTW i am just wondering if this could be a CRS317 Switch issue, as i am running it in SwitchOS mode boot.. in version 2.13.. not sure if this impacts..

as i am using the CRS in the middle to be able to connect both devices using just SFP+ port..

Re: OSPF Failure setup ptp between CCR1016 - RB4011  [SOLVED]

Hi guys

Problem solved, after digging for more information and some reading, i managed to find out that OSFP does not send packets if both devices are being connected via Switch running SwitchOS mode.

plugged in cable direcly on both devices on other ether ports and OSFP connected each other..

In order to get OSFP to forward packet via Switch CRS.. i need to boot into routerOS mode.
