Route Reflector Backup

Sun Oct 11, 2009 4:55 pm

Hello

We are testing BGP based VPLS, we have a test setup with 10 routers. One router on our NOC is fuctioning as Route Reflector. All is working as advertised, but as a test we disabled the Route Reflector and all dynamic VPLS interfaces went down. Is there a way we configure a second Router as Route Reflector Backup?

With BGP there is no reason not to use two route-reflectors. One wouldn't act as a backup per se, but having two would give you the redundancy you are after.

Ok so, I would setup another Router as Route Reflector and configure BGP sessions to the Network....
