BGP Question

Wed Sep 15, 2010 12:25 am

Im a dumb ass when it comes to BGP stuff and advanced routing..

Have this new customer that will be put on a separate fiber connection. Will deliver last mile via Tik. He needs to peer BGP with us for his /24. We do not have BGP on the fiber connection we want to put him on. Do I just get my fiber provider do host his ASN number with his block and route his block directly to him and get him to do BGP with his other provider? Does this make sense? Or do I have to make a BGP with a new tik router and add him? Dont think that makes sense.

Some pointers please... ;)

If you as an ISP have your own ASn then yes, you have to peer with your customer. Otherwise he can set multihop peering with your fiber provider directly.
