IPv6 BGP peering

Mon Apr 15, 2013 2:35 pm

Hello,

I have a question regarding IPv6 BGP peering.
Is it possible to make a seperate BGP peering with IPv6 addresses ?
All examples of BGP IPv6 peering are given on peering on IPv4 and then anouncing IPv6 prefix. This is working but I think that full BGP IPv6 session should be supportes.
I have tested connection between two RB via IPv6 and everything was working, ping was working from router A to router B but BGP session could not be established on IPv6 addresses.
Test was done on ROS v.5.22.
Does anybody have full BGP peering via IPv6 addresses working ?

Hi

It's just like you would add an IPv4 peer. There are just two differences. 1. Use the IPv6 Address as the Remote Address and 2. select only the checkbox "IPv6" on the "Advanced" tab. That's it...
