CHR License

Wed Nov 23, 2016 7:02 pm

Hi to all,
I purchased a P1 license for a CHR installed on XenServer.
All work fine. My only doubt is how I can verify that the Router took the license.
If I look in system > license I can see a date for Next Renewal at and another date for deadline.
I would have expected to see an "end date: unlimited" for example.

Thank you.
Paolo.

Hello,

just log into your client account ( https://www.mikrotik.com/client/ ), check on left side with "Cloud Hosted Router (CHR)" and select "all CHR keys".

greets

Ok, on my personal panel on Mikrotik site I can see all my license, I knew it.
My question was if I can see the same license in my device.

Thank you,
Paolo.

If I look in system > license I can see a date for Next Renewal at and another date for deadline.
This means the time when RouterOS will check if your license is still valid. If yes, it will extend deadline date again.
This is needed because CHR license can be moved to another CHR installation. To avoid the license being used on two CHR systems, RouterOS needs to check if a particular license is for this CHR or moved elsewhere. RouterOS needs internet access one time every 2 months.
