I am trying to setup a lab using a Mikrotik Virtual Firewall on WMWare Player and I am having some issues configuring the network adapters. Here is the scenario
I have a dual NIC PC with a public ip configured on one interface and a private ip configured on the other
Local area con1:5.5.5.5
Local area con2:192.168.5.1
In VMware Virtual Network editor I created to VNets
Vnet0:Bridged to Local area connection 1 (public)
Vnet1:Host Only (192.168.5.0/24)
In Windows host I shared Local area con 2 to share with Vnet1
In Mikrotik I configured
ether2:192.168.5.1/24
ether1:?
This is where I am stuck
What IP should I configure on ether1 and do I need firewall rules to route between the NICS. Secondly I am not sure if I configured the vnets correctly. Can someone point me in the right direction.
