CHR on Hyper-V - dhcp client unable to take address

Wed Jun 27, 2018 5:33 pm

Hello Guys, :D

I face the following issue - chr 6.42.5 on Hyper-v hypervisor (generation 1 virtual machine). I have connected the interface of the virtual machine to the virtual switch in the /24 local network. There is one dd-wrt in the network, which acts as a dhcp-server in the /24 network.
I have configured dhcp-client on the Mikrotik:

There are other virtual machines - linux based - on the same host which have interfaces in the same virtual switch and they are successfully taking address.

Any ideas?

Just a note:
This is the second Mikrotik machine which I have created so far and is unable to obtain address.

Are you using VLAN? I have two CHR running on this version that have DHCP client working so it should be config.

Funny :D - Just as I was taking the screenshots for the reply, I noticed that yeah - on the Ubuntu machine, "Enable virtual LAN identification" was checked and there was a VLAN ID configured.
I have added this to the CHR and happily it is properly working now.

10x! :)
