Creating a custom CHR AMI

Sat Aug 11, 2018 4:32 am

Has anyone had any success building a custom AMI based off of the official AMIs published by Mikrotik?

Normally, you'd be able to do something like this:
  • Spin up an instance, let it boot
  • SSH in and configure your instance as needed
  • Stop the instance and export an AMI based on it.
  • Launch new instances based on that AMI
When I try that with the CHR, though, instances launched from my customized AMI boot, and respond to ping, but I can't get in with Winbox, SSH, etc (not a security group issue, yes those services were open on the source instance).

Anyone have any tips?

Seems like I have the same issue, looks like it is MikroTik issue - security groups, routing, subnets, ACL are identical. Instance status checks fails due to network related issue.
