CHR disconnect on VM Migration

Fri Jan 18, 2019 9:25 am

Hello,

We are experiencing short disconnects on a CHR when we migrate other VM's to the HOST where the CHR is running.
The CHR has version 6.43 and is running in a Hyper-V 2016 Cluster.
The VM has 8 GB RAM and 16 vCPUs of 3000 Mhz.
The CPU itself is between 10-20% during most of the time, with 20+ only when there is ~500Mbps of traffic, but still under 30%.

We have tried the CHR VM in 4 different servers. All servers are fully up2date with Windows Updates (updated 28th of Dec), Drivers and Firmware.
3 of the servers are Dell T620 and 1 is a Dell T630 and the problem has happened on both platforms.
It occurs ONLY when VMs are migrated to the host that runs the CHR, not when VMs are migrated away from it. It does not happen all the time, but is easiest to replicate when migrating 2 or more large (high memory) VMs at the same time.

The CHR runs on cluster storage backed by Starwind, as do all the other VMs.
We experience no other issues with any other VMs, however the CHR is the only virtual network "equipment" that we have.
The network interface that goes down is connected to a Team NIC in Windows running LACP.
The CPU usage and latency on HOST01 is low, even during migrations, however as with all VM migrations the CPU usage increases, but not to a point where there should be any issues. CPU usage on the host is about 30% and latency is 10-15 microseconds.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
