CHR: Duplicate default-name on interfaces

Fri May 31, 2019 3:45 pm

Hi,

I have a CHR instance running on one of the production servers of my company.
It has 3 interfaces: 2 of these are mapped to physical ethernet ports (WAN and LAN), the third one is a virtual port on the hypervisor to communicate with the other VMs.
I should add that everything is working as expected.

When exporting the RouterOS configuration, I end up with something that looks incorrect to me:
/interface ethernet
set [ find default-name=ether1 ] name=ether1_localnet
set [ find default-name=ether1 ] name=ether2_vminternal
set [ find default-name=ether1 ] name=ether3_wan
(...)
As you can see, the 3 interfaces have the same default-name.
I was expecting to use this configuration to set-up another CHR, but although I have not tried yet, I suspect that it will not work.

Do you know if that could be an issue and how to solve it?

Thanks

You didn't even say which version you are running...
