Router Virtualization (Limits) / Metarouter

Mon Jan 10, 2011 10:51 am

Hi,

I have the need to Virtualize about 50 routers, I planned to do this on my RB 1000 however I have just found out that it is limited to 8 metarouters ??? (This seems crazy for a device that you can throw a couple of GB of RAM at).

How do I get round this problem?

sadly it is no possible. so many guests would bring even RB1000 to the crawl with all the overhead from guests. In wiki.mikrotik.com you can see what limitations are there.

Sure 50 would be too many for the CPU / RAM, however 20 would be fine, (and use 2-3 RB1000 units) to achieve the total. How would I go about removing the 8 router limitation?
