How to keep IP address iof virtual interface persistent

Sun Jan 29, 2012 4:21 pm

Hi,

When I create Metarouter and add dynamic interfaces I want to add IP address to vif1. I can do it with no problem, but when I reboot Metarouter assigned IP address shows that it is assigned to unknown interface even if after restart of Metarouter I have interface with the same name as before (vif1). Is there any chance to make this IP persistent ? I know, its possible to set IP for bridge and assing vif1 to bridge, but is there a possibility to use the same IP without using bridge ?

add static interface under /interface virtual-ethernet

and then add it similar to the dynamic interface, just specify that you want new interface to be static and assign static vif created before.

Now on every reboot interface will have the interface up with same mac addresses.

or set up dynamic interface and specify what mac addresses you want for interface to use (both MAC addresses, host and VM)
