LACP/LAG + VLAN on CSS326-24G-2S+RM SwOS 2.6 (latest)

Thu Dec 14, 2017 1:49 pm

Hey All,

I just bought a CSS326-24G-2S because of the IGMP Snooping capability, 2x 10 GBit SFP+ Ports and last but not least its very good energy efficiency.

But after I got it (with stock 2.0 firmware...) and flashed it to latest 2.6 release the Problems begin.

I got to configure two LACP Trunks (3x 1000 BaseT Trunk1 and 2x1000BaseT Trunk2).
On Both trunks there are pretty much exactly a dozend of VLANs tagged.

When I configure a (or the two) static Trunk(s), in the VLAN Sections there is absolutely no way to reference the Trunks - there are still
e.g. Port 23+24 displayed but no trunk Port.

Isn't it possible to tag vlans on a trunk port? That's a perfectly normal method since 10 years or more.. I cannot believe that it isn't implemented in the device - despite it is rathler cheap...

Would be nice if someone could explain to me how to do it.

Thanks lot!

Cheers

...since no one answers - not even the Mikrotik Suppot, I guess I bought another piece of "banana-hardware" :-(

What a bummer... should have been staying by HP, but the energy efficency of the Mikrotik is so much better...

Hey,

don't like posting to myself, but whatever...

To whom it may concern:
The LAG + VLANs is supported on CSS326, only dynamic conversion from ports to trunk has not been implemented in SwOS yet.
At the moment, it is required to configure exactly the same VLAN settings on LAG ports to ensure proper VLAN operation.

Best regards,
Janis B.
I testet it a couple of days ago and it at least seems to work as Janis mentioned. I'll test it further next friday...

But I still have some doubts that the configuration will survive the next update, when the trunk is embedded in the vlan section for "proper" configuration.

We'll see

Hello, Mikrotik is still developing SwOS, that's why you dont see that port as trunk, however, in practice you only need to configure each VLAN into each physical port within the same LAG Trunk, don't forget to disable RSTP too. And it should be working, I've deployed that config in several CSS and CRS without any issue. Hope that Mikrotik will finish to develop that SWoS in a much better version.
