LAG, LACP mode

Sat Sep 01, 2018 12:13 pm

Hi all!

I just got CSS326-24G-2S+.
Upgraded to 2.8 firmware.

Problem and steps taken:

Configured LACP:
- active mode
- disabled RSTP for ports in LACP
- disabled IGMP snooping as I don`t need it
- connected 3 nics from Server 2016 to switch

LACP negotiated OK.
Now fun begins. If I disconnect only 1 NIC, whole LACP drops with Faulted LACP negotiation message.
I have only Intel NICs.

Now I said ok, I don`t need LACP and I configured static teaming. Same procedure.
Team comes UP, I disconnect one NIC and traffic stops flowing.

So this switch is really bad at load balancing and simply put, it doesn`t work as it should.

When I configure on server side switch independant mode with 3 or 4 nics, things are OK.

Options:
a) I configured it wrong
b) SWOS is bad at this, really bad

Please note that I had Dlink and Tenda switches and fully working LACP with SAME server equipment.
Can someone help me please?

Thanks!

Also one more thing.

When I configure static teaming and assign 2 groups, under trunks there is always number 1.
Shouldn`t trunk be 1 for group 1 and 2 for group 2 ?
