SwOS or RouterOS

Sat Sep 15, 2018 9:56 am

Hello everyone,

I have 25+ mirkotik routers and switches with RouterOS. Before v6.41 i configure switch with Master port but now use Bridge.
When start write here I looked SwOS  I have never heard of it!
To test SwOS I use CRS326-24G-2S+ but nothing is interesting. Can't make a scripts, add users, torch, grafic, login via mac, don't see cpu use..
Why Network Administrators need to switch from RouterOS to SwOS? Can someone tell me what is better in SwOS?

Thanks in advance!
Be careful with MikroTik Firewall because you can cut the line [yourself - MikroTik]

I have two CSS326, one CRS326, one CSS106, and one RB260 that are all running SwitchOS, in addition to three RB750 routers running RouterOS. My general philosophy is that if you want a switch, buy a switch and run a switch OS. If you want a router, buy a router and run a router OS. I don’t mix the two. My routers are used exclusively as routers and the switches of course operate exclusively as managed switches with multiple VLANs.

If what you are trying to do is run a managed switch, SwOS works just fine for my purposes. And buying the switches is less expensive than buying the router version.

I want to write more, but I’ve got to get to sleep...

RB750Gr3, RB750r2, CRS326-24G-2S (in SwitchOS), CSS326-24G-2S, CSS106-5G-1S, RB260GS
Not sure if I beat them in submission, or they beat me into submission
