Hi,
I thought I have everything figured out.. But again I am buffled
So I have multiple switches linked together.
- port 1 : Uplink to GW (All Tagged)
- Port 2 : All Tagged VLANs to hAPAC2
- Port 3: Hybrid Port - Untagged VLAN and Multiple Tagged Ones
- Port 4: Hybrid Port - Untagged VLAN and Multiple Tagged Ones
- Port 5: Uplink to another RB260 (trunk port)
If going from RouterOS world:
- Add If missing - Tagged Port
- Always Strip - Untaged Port
Now I have read this:
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/SwOS/SWO ... woSwitches
And Switch1 - Port 5 (Uplink to another switch..) is puzzling to me.
1.On VLAN Tab:
VLAN Mode : Enabled
Egress: Leave as is
2. On VLANs Tab:
Port 5 has all VLANs set to Not a Member?!
Why?
Should it be set: Add If Missing or Leave as is?!
I would set it exactly the same as port 1 which goes to RouterOS.
And another question - Hybrid port in my case..
Is it set correctly for port 3 and 4 in above scenario:
1.On VLAN Tab:
VLAN Mode : Strict
Default Vlan ID: 50
Force VLAN ID: unchecked
Egress: Always Strip - Is it correct or should it be leave as is? If So Why?
2. On VLANs Tab:
VLAN ID POR3
50 Always Strip
100 Add If Missing
101 Add If Missing
Is this correct or should I set it to Leave as is? And Again Why?
Wiki is just to unclear..
@Mikrotik: Please could you make a updated Wiki With different port options for CSS106 (RB260) just like the examples in this Wiki Page
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:S ... s_Ports.29
The above example is excelent for learning.. it shows all port types and simple step by step how to achieve it!
@Mikrotik: Or better yet why dont you use as almost all other vendors: Untagged and Tagged Checkboxes and or Access, Hybrid and Trunk ports... I know wishful thinking
Thanks for your answers..
