CSS610-8G-2S+ no 10G on SFP+

Thu Jan 21, 2021 3:10 pm

Hi.

I recently bought CSS610-8G-2S+ and I want to connect it to RB4011iGS+RM via 10G SFP+ port but with no luck.
There is no 10G option in SWOS config page - see attachment.
I tried UC-DAC-SFP+ cable and S+DA0001 cable but both gives me only 1G connection.
I'm running 2.13rc6 firmware.
I'm courious if this is cable problem or this device is unable to do 10G on SPF+?

RB4011iGS+RM is not compatible with passive DAC. (Why is Auto Negotiation disabled?)

  • S+DA0001 >> passive
  • UC-DAC-SFP+ >> passive

So replace S+DA0001 with S+AO0005 or XS+DA0001 which are by documentation tested and compatible.

Note: It's great to have a 4k monitor, but I'd try to post the images smaller when is not necesery.

I'm aware of compatibility table ans was sure that I ordered XS+DA0001, my mistake.

Auto negotiation isn't working - I can't get connetion when auto negotiation is on.

Sorry for the screeshots size , I wasn't aware that this can be a issue.

I just ordered XS+DA0001, will try and post a result.

Thanks for pointing this out.

I had a similar problem where the link will not come up at 10Gb rate. I am connecting a CSS610-8G-2S+ SFP+ port to an Intel XXV710 25Gb network card using a 1m long SFP28 DA cable (FS S28-PC01). I believe the switch was the root cause of the problem as the Intel card and cable I'm using are known good (I can connect them to other devices and they work fine).

I upgraded my switch to firmware version 2.13rc12 (link found elsewhere on this forum) and that resolved my issue. You may try upgrading your switch firmware and see if that helps, too.
