I'm developing a test environment which requires a link to be brought down. The Routerboard 250gs offers functionality to enable/disable a port but it doesn't work the way I would expect. It seems like it only stops ingoing and outgoing traffic but the link is still up. The reason why a stop of the traffic flow is not enough is because the other end of the port (my test device) is supposed to drop the link, not only stop communicating. Is there a work-around for this problem or am I just doing something wrong?
